Many fractures around the shoulder and elbow can be treated without an operation. Some require only a sling. Others require some form of bracing.
Regardless, it is important that your treatment plan respect the joints’ natural motion requirements while you are healing the fracture. It is not uncommon to get stiffness in your shoulder or elbow while you are healing a fracture in or around these joints. The appropriate physical therapy will help you minimize this stiffness while you are healing your fracture.
I have extensive experience in treating fractures and broken bones in and around the shoulder and elbow and will use non operative means whenever feasible to help your fracture heal and get you moving as rapidly as possible
